Re: Class D amps move up a level

Going from valves to class D (especially with Focal) will give you a very different sound. Try before you buy.

Re: Cyrus Stream x2- Apple music

Nope, sorry.
If you're buying second hand be aware that it needs the latest firmware to run Tidal and Qobuz and most dealers charge for it.

Re: DacXP Signature Problem

It will depend on the quality of components and the product design of course.

I won't pretend to be an expert but the DAC-XP Sig gets awfully warm for a DAC-Pre. There's a lot packed in that shoebox and heatsinks can only do so much.

Sounds nice though :)

Re: Serious speaker help!

To be clear, you're using two Stereo 200's as mono power amps? Should be enough grunt for most speakers. If you were to buy new speakers, what would be your budget (including the sale price of the ones you have of course)? Assuming you don't want to mess around with positioning, I think you need som...

Re: Serious speaker help!

Your amp is should be powerful enough for the speakers but it sounds like you play rather loud. A more powerful amp would solve this but to be honest it sounds like you just don't like the presentation of the PMC speakers. The 26 are a big step up but that's a big risk buying blind. Do you not have ...

Re: What vinyl did you spin recently?

I have been playing the Analogue Productions UHQR release of Jimi Hendrix' Axis Bold as Love (stereo version). You can believe the hype, it's probably the best sounding record I own. Incredibly low noise floor and separation. Like listening to the master tapes (I imagine!). I reserved it over two ye...

The Soundkey is on there FWIW, and it measures poorly.

Re: Gryphon integrated

I've read a couple of reviews since seeing this and it does seem very highly regarded indeed. Annoyingly wide though, like Musical Fidelity stuff, so thats a new rack to factor in if I wanted one, on top of the eye watering price. Looks great in your setup though!

Re: The future of this forum

Maybe (he says hopefully) Cyrus are positioning themselves for a new range of really high end hifi... It's been a long time coming if so. I expected a new line of products using the "One" chassis but spotted this on Facebook a while back: "I do hope Cyrus keep the die cast "shoe...
