Thanks for the write-up. What the hell is going on with that speaker in the first picture? It looks like the jpeg has glitched ;D It's a shame Chord didn't show off those new amps with a pair of PMC Fenestria. To me, the Larsen speaker looks like one of those engineering cutaway models you see now ...
I agree with the suggestion reference Chord Hugo version 1. I have one which is superb with both my Shure SE353 IEMs and my Sennheiser HD800s. In fact, as I almost never use mine now, we could probably do a deal. If you're interested, drop me a PM.

My Freya definitely clicks when I increase or decrease the volume which I’ve never known a pot to do.
I imagine that upgrading that cheap volume pot would make quite a difference in both preamps. Something like a TKD with the same specs, for instance. Not really expensive and very high quality. It's at least as important as tube-rolling. I'd say it'll make a bigger difference. Regards, Vincula They...
Today’s listen was fine. I now cannot hear the hum from my seat, only when I put my ear right next to the speaker. I was considering buying a matched pair of the Brimar 6SN7 tubes off their website for the gain stage and may do so soon.
Thanks for your response. It sounds like I’m not alone. The passive and JFET modes are not what I bought the amp for so it would be good to get it working as expected. I knew tubes could generate some hum but my Schiit Valhalla headphone amp is silent in use whether as a pre-amp through speakers or ...
How are you finding the tubes on the Freya? No matter how I swap mine round, I always seem to get some hum in the quieter passages of music with either the original tubes or with a set of new replacement Tung Sol 6SN7s. They're noisy to the point where I mainly use the Freya in passive or JFET mode ...
Philip, See this article --> https://www.synology.com/en-uk/knowledgebase/DSM/tutorial/General/How_to_migrate_between_Synology_NAS_DSM_6_0_and_later I seem to recall that's what I did when I moved between different Synology NAS a number of years ago. But, as ever, make sure you have a backup of your...
Thanks - my StreamX(Signature) is about 5 years years old but I still have the original firmware since I wanted to retain Tunein and anyway I can't bring myself to shell out for the latest firmware until I know it's ok. Sounds like it is so that's one option. I may be interested in the Aries (not t...
