Re: What vinyl did you spin recently?

In my opinion the first four Sensational Alex Harvey Band studio albums (Framed, Next, The Impossible Dream & Tomorrow Belongs to Me) together with Live and Live at the BBC are the ones to have. I think the latter two are the best of the various live collections available and it's essential to h...

Re: What vinyl did you spin recently?

I'm going on holiday to Greece in a few days and have been sorting out playlists. Frustratingly one of my favourite Groundhogs albums does not feature on Apple Music and I as don't have a copy on CD either I've no digital copy available to me. So today I played my vinyl copy of: Groundhogs - Hogwash...

Re: What vinyl did you spin recently?

I've been listening to the I Am The Eggpod podcast which is a series of discussions about The Beatles albums and solo albums made by the former Beatles. I recently played the podcast episode about the John Lennon / Plastic Ono Band album in which the opinion is expressed the best John Lennon album i...

Re: What did you listen to today!

Prog rock afternoon but avoiding the 1970s.

Late sixties: Man - first two albums
Early eighties: Marillion - first album and a best of album

I've been playing CDs more than LPs or streaming for some reason.

Re: What did you listen to today!

I generally like to play vinyl on a Sunday morning. Today, however, I'm celebrating the recovery of the DAC function in my DACXP Sig (see other thread) by having a digital music session. I have the Readly App on my iPad and was looking through Prog Magazine which has a feature on readers' favourite ...

Re: DACXP Sig drama

Thank you all.

I left it overnight and disconnected from the mains power for an hour this morning. Thought I'd try restoring power first before trying a factory re-set and it is working normally after power restoration without the need for a re-set.

A great relief!

DACXP Sig drama

Any bright ideas? Today my DACXP Signature is sounding very thin and lacking bass across both channels on all digital inputs across both coaxial input (CD & Streamer) and toslink (DVD) input, so I know it's not a source or input problem. It sounds fine on the analogue input (turntable). I theref...

Re: Rocketman

I saw Rocketman today and enjoyed it far more than I expected. I accepted it as a representation rather than an accurate biopic which is what is the intention.

Re: Tomorrow

I will be voting too. In doing so I will try to select those who can best represent our interests for the time we are still in the EU, i.e the job of MEPs. While it's an opportunity to also express an opinion, it's important to consider the outcome of this election is not about Brexit - that is a ma...

Re: Which peice of hifi gear have you had the longest?

I have a Creek CAS4040 integrated amp bought new in 1984 still going strong in my home office.

Oldest Cyrus kit in my main system is a Phono X & PSX-R bought new in 2005 and still sounds great.

Re: What did you listen to today!

Am reading Paul McCartney: The Biography by Peter Norman which got me listening to The Beatles - Anthology 1 (CD1). Have also been looking at the iconic Astrid Kirchherr b&w photographs taken in Hamburg including those of Pete Best and the ultra cool Stuart Sutcliffe. Although I've read numerous...
