Re: Tidal HiFi - 60 Day Trial

I don’t have an MQA compatible DAC, but do have Tidal. My Auralic Aries can unpack MQA and send the files to the TT. After lots of idle playing around, I can say that there is very rarely any difference in the MQA version and the CD quality non MQA version. One if the problems with Tidal is there a...

Re: Mono X v Mono X300 Sigs

Last night I persuaded SWMBO to compare. First we tried Hey Now by London Grammar and guess what she preferred the Mono X! Then played Late Night by Foals and she admitted that the new amps sounded better.. For those who remember Screechy Vioilns topic we then tried some violin and then my wife sai...

i wonder whether that is as much to do with a better master than it being 24 bit, not16?

Re: Formula 1

More generally, on the season so far, some interesting stuff is happening. Haas and sauber ( with Ferrari engine), Williams and Racing point ( mercedes engine) seem to be doing much worse than you expect them to do with those engines - is that because the spec of their engines is further behind the ...

Re: Formula 1

Anyone catch the British F1 GP? (I know many were watching the Tennis or Cricket instead) I watched live on Ch4 and it was easily the best British F1 race I can remember for decades 8) In case you missed the Leclerc vs Max battle: https://youtu.be/RmvZyC6s_Wk I wonder whether there is more dicing t...

Re: Mono X v Mono X300 Sigs

“more bass, more dynamics” when i did jump from mono x to x300, i found i concluded the same as you. And i liked it. more bass and dynamics would give them a different character. i’m glad they went for more of the same. I think we all prefer something that you can listen to for hours, rather than so...

multi room - advice

What is the cheapest and easiest way to hear your vinyl in other rooms, Im aware that you can plug in a bluetooth sender to an amp output. The most obvious way is to plug an audio out put from your amp into the analogue input of a sonos connect (ZP90) and that can to give you music in other rooms vi...

Re: Offer on Cyrus One and OneHD

isn’t it possible that recent changes to how they manufacture, with their new alliance allows them to support a dealer discount. And that this is a good time to do it given the many good reviews now given to these products, and therefore get sales numbers above a steady trickle?

My 10' penneth. First of all I would like to thank Robert for all the effort and work he has put in to ensure this forum has been such a success over the years. So many people have benefited your initiative. Thank you. The CU is a niche forum which I value but recognise might be coming to an end. I...

Re: MONO X 300 Clicking

Can you give them a good run in period to see if that helps? with new amps I put the speakers face to face, reverse the polarity (reduces the sound level), turn them up and go out. I know it sounds silly but the caps etc. do benefit from running in and the capacitor power retention is the only thin...
