Surely connecting CD to DACXP via a format of cable and then out to Streamline via a different format of cable is not going to work as you are expecting DAC to do conversion when it is just passing through digital signal? Doesn't your temporary solution make more sense as DACXp isn't doing anything ...

It sounds like you are hearing things I would expect from a better DAC.

I would definitely get another power to bi-amp. There are always lots of them on ebay if you buy things there.
