Re: Are we doing In & Out this year?

Out. Power Inspired AG500 Regenerator - blew up when switching on one evening. They only do 1500 model now, too expensive for the improvement in sound quality. Might try to get it repaired locally. In. Pair of Townshend Supertweeters. Brings the sound of my speakers to life. Good number of albums; b...

Re: What Speaker cable are we all using

Main listening room system - Van Damme 4mm Hi-Fi Speaker Cable Bi-Wired in short runs (1.5m) power to speaker terminated with z plugs by Mark Grant. Second listening room system - Chord Silver Screen, terminated with (I can't remember which) high quality plugs by my own fair hand. Other room mini sy...

Re: Cyrus dropping silver casework

Do you read posts on here? They will sell you silver if you ask. Fake news and faux anger on forums are dull. Go be angry at something real. Venting anger at something you aren’t even sure of isn’t worth the space. Yes thanks I do. It seemed to me from the posts above that silver was disappearing, ...

Re: Cyrus dropping silver casework

If Cyrus are dropping the silver (50 shades of) option, then I shall be buying no new Cyrus units in future.

Many civilised suppliers have black and silver options.

Yet another reason Cyrus have given those loyal to the brand thus far to look elsewhere.

Sadly wrong colour, or I should be very sorely tempted.

Good luck with the sale Phil.

Re: FS Townshend Super Tweeters - Price Reduced [SOLD]

Supertweeters received from phlppip in multilayered packaging of truly heroic proportions and preparation.

Thanks for a very straightforward transaction - the units are immaculate as described and I am looking forward to seeing what difference they make in my system.

Thanks again.

Re: Mains Conditioner

For that price you can get a mains regenerator. Much better results than a mains filter ( which is all the Tacima is)

Re: Granite off cuts

Just lay the blocks on the carpet, then spike shoes for the spikes and that gives you sufficient isolation. You don't need to "set them in concrete" to get decent results. They'll only move if you push them or walk very close. For all but the biggest and loudest bass bins, the inertia of t...

Re: turbo-encabulator

No, no, a short sprocket-loaded, radially smoothed plenum oscillator is the way to go. Hold out for the optional "squid ink pasta" edition isolation module for best results. This of course should be boiled rather than burned in. Apply tension to the thrust washer when the moon is in Aries ...

Re: Burn-in - Forum Members Experience

In my experience, I have heard burn in improvements in interconnects (Atratus XLRs) and cartridge (Denon DL110) with an initial harshness and brittle toppiness gradually opening up over tens of hours and becoming warmer and more rounded, in a similar way (but much slower obviously) to the changes th...
