It sounds like it could be the laser but will probably be compounded by years of crud built up on the mechanism and general wear. I had the same type of problem, had the laser changed and mech cleaned and it lasted 6 months.

Sadly, I would suggest retirement.

I had a Cyrus IIIi plus the PSX-R running a pair of Heybrook HB2's in the conservatory. I wanted to get into streaming so bought a Streamline 2 integrated amp that allowed me to upgrade the conservatory system (big time) and feed the stream into the main system. They are going for about £800 on ebay...

Definitely no the psxr2 upgrade. it makes a slight difference but only on top end gear IMO. The psxr is perfectly adequate.

I bought surplus MCRU kits after a show and some extra plugs and sockets. Did the full system with screened cable of the correct length for £87.00.

Yorkshire Tea improved of course.

No, but the water will boil much quicker! In fact the lack of negative harmonics in the boiling process might actual be detrimental to the brewing process.

No, the Linn is a suspension deck so a clamp would put it out of alignment.

I have a similar problem on my system. I eventually found that it was caused by having the Powerline ethernet adapters switched on which were generating RF. The arm was acting like an aerial and causing noises as you describe. I simply turn them off when not required. When I spoke to my dealer he sa...
