Re: Another DAC XP Sig problem

Reply back from Cyrus support - they do reply quickly. Its possible that the DAC XP is getting noisy power supplies and requires a service. How old is it? I bought it used from billyray off here in Dec 15, it was second hand then. It's working ok in current set up so I guess I'll see how things go f...

Re: Another DAC XP Sig problem

mojo, yes been thinking along those lines. I have powered everything off. The other DC input is through the Stello U3 connecting the PC, where it gets its power over the USB. The sound that does comes through is recognisable to the source, in small bursts, distorted and about 30 seconds apart Weird!

Re: Another DAC XP Sig problem

Its been working like that for years! You connect the CD to the digital input of the XP as any other source and output it as a digital output. Using the PC as a digital input through to the Streamline works fine. The way I have it now does seem a better solution but when I first set it up I didn't h...

Another DAC XP Sig problem

Weird problem with my system. Here is the email I sent to Cyrus. I have a problem with my Cyrus system – any suggestions? Main System – CD Sig, PC running jriver and Spotify, DAC XP Sig + psx-r2, 2 x mono x 200 sigs. Irrelevant stuff. Linn LP12 and ATC SM40’s. Conservatory system – Streamline 2 into...

Re: DACXP Sig drama

Just had another weirdo on mine. I feed the XP sig digital inputs to the Streamline 2 to drive the speakers in the conservatory through the digital out. It works fine on the PC streaming, spotify and jriver but fails from the CD. Just "broken" music streams coming out. It happened just aft...

Yes, definitely. For the first time I won't be voting for my natural party. And no, it won't be for that man of the people, beer drinking banker. Bugger, spell check keeps spelling it as "banker"

Re: Large CD Collection For Sale

Yes, someone on another forum I am on has just given away 1600 CD's as a job lot!

Our local charity shop sells them for 20p each.

Re: DacXP Signature Problem

Hi, yes I've had a few problems with the DAC XP Sig. In my case the bass completely disappeared. The process is in the user manual, the relevant bit is copied below. Note that by "remove power" it means turn off completely, not just put in standby. This will delete all your settings. If yo...

I've got a pair of Heybrooke HB2s in the conservatory. Had them since early 80's.

For those of you not on the WAM, you will have missed 65 pages of discussion as to whether a Cat 5/6/7/ cable is better than a Cat 8 cable as an interconnect - sorry I can't remember just what was being connected. It seems that, according to the OP. 1. If you have the best Linn system available. 2. ...

Re: The New Cyrus ONE being made elsewhere ?

Yes Ian, my friends company bid, and lost, a contract to build some Cyrus stuff, about 3 years ago. Can't remember what the model was. I'll ask him next time he's in the pub. If Cyrus have the required contracts in place, do all the design and control the quality control and warranty then I see no p...

Re: are you on other hifi forums?

What nme do you use - I use the same as here. I haven't registered, I just look in as a guest. It's worth getting on. The Bake offs are epic - 30 odd of us at Settle last year in a remote bunk house. Walks in the dales, drinks (ok lots of.. ) and incredible food. Last year one of the guys slow cook...
