Re: DAC recommendations for CDXt signature ?

I use a Chord 2Qute with my CDXT Sig and I think it sounds wonderful. Never heard a Chord Hugo (TT or other) and I will keep it that way for now as there is no budget for an upgrade ::) . Nevertheless. That little 2Qute sounds at least as good as the Leema Acoustics Presiocion DAC I demoed my cd tra...

Re: Room Acoustic Treatment

I'm quite new to room treatments, I have watched over a dozen youtube videos. How do you know if you need it? I'm guessing it's when you can hear an over powering boom from the bass? Also what do the panels look like inside, is it flat absorbing material inside a frame or is it some type of tunnel ...

Re: Thoughts on speakers...

Last year I bought a "basic" package of GIK Acoustics stuff for my listening room. Basic would be then: - 4 Tri-traps in the room corners - 2 244 panels for the first reflection points on de side walls - 2 244 panels on the front wall behind the speakers - 2 244 panels on the ceiling betwe...

Re: CD Xt Signature running in time

Hi all. Thanks for your comments. I'm definitely hearing differences in sound quality now I've had it running for a while. I'm convinced it is not 'in my head'. The sound seems to have 'come alive' some how. It has even been commented by 'er indoors (not known for audiophile tastes) that the sound ...

Re: CD Xt Signature running in time

Works well with the 2Qute. I second that. I have in my listening room the CD XT Signature connected to a chord 2 qute and an ATC Sia2 and the sound is absolutely amazing. I tried it downstairs in combination with an Arcam Irdac into my Cyrus system and there SQ was excellent too. If you should ask ...

Re: hi fi plans for 2018

I have bought a DYI speakerkit, which still has to be assembled.
If I find the time I also would like to make a few difusers.
Maybe I will buy some more panels to acousticaly optimise my listening room.

And that will be it for 2018.

Apart from buying music of course.

Re: Which speakers - PMC or B&W?

I don't have any experience with PMC so I can't help you there. However I have heard transmission speakers play before and agree with Angelface that they are capable of amazing bass output related to the speaker size. I do own B&W 685's and B&W804 d2's. In my experience it is advisable to st...

Re: Can anyone recommend....

I was very impressed by the Arcam IrDac (not the newest version, but the one before).
At the time it costed 500 EUR new. If you could get that device ex demo or second hand, that should fill the bill.

Re: B&O wall speakers

You clearly don't know what a demanding wife would accept: A rectangular sound panel had to be negociated.. Which means yours is not that demanding. I took the middle way: I claimed a mancave upstrairs, set up a second installation and optimalised the room with 5 GIK Acoustic Pannels and 4 corner b...

Re: Cyrus CD transports...

I've bought a CD Xt Sig in the summer of 2016 and am thrilled with the purchase. Splended SQ IMHO. But to answer the question. I have never experienced any reading problems, saved one time with a badly scratched platter which caused to skip. Severe or disturbing loading problems haven't occured yet....

Re: Wanted: ATC SCM40s

My understanding is the ATC SCM40 is quite a hard load to drive. Long-term the Hypex n-Cores will bring them to life, but I'm not sure a Smartpower, even with PSX-R will do anything, other than force the power amp upgrade quickly. I think others have had good experience with MonoX driving them, but...

Hm. The link above is a bit confusing.
The pricing seems to concern ATC SCM40, the latest model.
But the pictures below show the ATC SCM 40A (the active version which is of course more expensive).
