Re: Phono Sig...does psxr-2 make a big difference

Well done! I'd like to know what you think of it when you've given it a while to settle into its stride. (You can run it in just by having it powered up 24/7, it's not necessary to have your whole system playing). I've taken delivery today of a pair of ex dem Mono X 300 Sigs so now it's time to conn...

Re: Phono Sig...does psxr-2 make a big difference

One advantage of ex dem (apart from the price) is that the device will have had at least some hours use which serves to reduce the "burn in" period I mentioned. (I think it would be an easy matter for dealers to keep a rough record of usage on dem items but they don't seem to bother!). If ...

Re: Phono Sig...does psxr-2 make a big difference

I think the PSXR2 is a worthwhile upgrade to its partnered device adding bass weight & authority, detail & subtlety. Did you buy your Phono Sig new? There is a promotion right now offering PSXR2 for £500 (£795) when bought with a compatible device. It shouldn't be too difficult to arrange a ...

Re: Repairs

I agree, Brent is very good, his headphone amps & filters are excellent. He has told me in the past that he's not overly keen on upgrading Cyrus products because there is so little room in the case. It's always worth having a chat to him to see what he might be able to do. You will get an honest...

Re: DACXP Sig drama

As an owner of a DACXPSIG I'm concerned that this fault could arise at some time. It would seem that the fault is not altogether a rarity & I would have expected Cyrus to be aware of it & how to resolve it. I suggest that somebody who has already been affected asks Cyrus directly what the pr...

Re: Kudos Super 10A Speakers

Many thanks for that. I agree about the Cyrus/MA combination being hard going so I suspect Kudos are also not for me.

Re: DACXP Sig drama

I wonder whether Cyrus would have charged the OP £300 if he had returned the faulty unit because of what we now know to be an easily remedied fault. Just a thought...

Re: Repairs

Would it be reasonable to assume that someone at Cyrus reads posts on CU? If they do then they obviously don't care sufficiently to do anything about poor relationships with present & the increasing number of past owners as they continue to make so many poor decisions which equate to two fingers...

Re: Repairs

I completely agree with that sentiment. I think Cyrus were preparing to wash their hands of the CDSE fiasco when they offered cut price upgrades in 2016. Presumably they hoped the offer would hoover up a lot of the defective machines & draw a line under the PR debacle. I've no doubt that there w...

Re: Repairs

I bought an 8vs2 exactly 10 years ago & if I still owned it (I've upgraded a couple of times since) I would be gutted to find that it could no longer be serviced or repaired. It makes no sense to me that Cyrus won't give advice to diyers or other repairers regarding devices they themselves no lo...

Might be a good idea to ask Cyrus directly what causes this issue.

Re: Audiolab M dac as a pre amp

In line attenuators are similar to RCA plugs fitted to the destination end of existing RCA ICs to attenuate (reduce) the output voltage of a CDP to more closely match it to the input sensitivity of an amp. Some suggest that if there is a mismatch, ie the output of the CDP is too high for a particula...

I've also been looking for a pair of Mono X 300 Sigs in QS. Must be mint & boxed. Anyone thinking of selling or seeing a pair for sale please PM me. Many thanks.

Kudos Super 10A Speakers

Have any present or former Cyrus owners auditioned/owned a pair of these speakers with Cyrus electronics?
Any feedback or info would be appreciated. I can't find a dealer who sells both brands to ask for an opinion.
