Re: CD Xt Signature running in time

Update from for this thread.......have patience in your new kit! Once 'burned in' it will be fab. The player was definitely sounding a little harsh initially but now its very sweet, detailed and refined. Plenty of depth and punch with a good recording (it does discriminate with sub optimal recording...

Re: CD Xt Signature running in time

Hi all. Thanks for your comments. I'm definitely hearing differences in sound quality now I've had it running for a while. I'm convinced it is not 'in my head'. The sound seems to have 'come alive' some how. It has even been commented by 'er indoors (not known for audiophile tastes) that the sound q...

Re: CD Xt Signature running in time

Initial impressions are very good, the sound has more depth, punch, clarity and detail. That's without an external DAC, it's plugged straight into my AV-8. It's a great step up from my previous CD6s (which wasn't a 'sonic slouch' by any means) it has to be said. The new player is the most engrossing...

Re: CD Xt Signature running in time

I'm happy to report the player is now sounding expansive and with plenty of depth. Thanks for the words of advice. This running in thing seems to work and wasn't imagining things after all!

CD Xt Signature running in time

Hi. I have recently purchased this player and whilst waiting for the delivery of my new unit I borrowed the dealers dem player until mine arrived. Plugging the borrowed unit to my system I was immediately impressed by the depth and clarity of the sound in my home set up (sounded very similar to the ...

Re: PSXR hum with Phono signature

Hi and thanks for the comments. Have tried moving the Phono away from the PSXR (as far as the interconnect cable will allow) but still a faint hum.  It was sitting on top of the PSXR so moved it off, also as this could possibly contribute.  Only thing I haven't tried is one of the other PS...

Re: PSXR hum with Phono signature

Hi. Thanks for the reply.  Have tried the ground switch and does eliminate some of the hum when the PSXR is on an powered.  The PSXR hum goes when its switched off.  Contacted Cyrus technical who suggested that the bolt securing the transformer inside may be loose giving rise to the h...

PSXR hum with Phono signature

Hi.

I have a faint but noticeable hum when using the PSXR and the phono. The hum is not present with the phono on its own so conclude the issue is with the power supply.  Any advice on what is causing the problem - a fault with the PSXR or mains interference, perhaps?

Many thanks!

iR14 remote and AV8 preamp

Hi. Does anyone know how to get this remote to send and accept commands to the AV8 - it does not seem to work (but older Cyrus remotes work ok)? Or is the amp not compatible, full stop, being from an older generation?  If the iR14 is programmable can this be set up? Any advice is appreciated. T...
