Re: Mono X v Mono X300 Sigs

I love my x300 sigs, They give me everything I want and then some.

What did you go from and then too?

I'm guessing xpower to x300 sigs?

Re: Speaker suggestions

I have a similar system to yours and I run a pair of Dali Opticon 8's. I actually bought the x300 sigs to power them, and they work and sound great. The cost is a little lower than your other choices and to my ears they are fantastic. I love listening to them and don't ever tire of hearing them sing...

Re: are you on other hifi forums?

I don't do facebook, twitter, instagram, snapchat and the likes.
I lost interest with social media not long after it started.

Now it seems like a lot of hassle I don't need to start getting interested in it all.

Re: are you on other hifi forums?

I check the site every day at least once looking for updates and new topics. Not had a lot to say recently, but I still enjoy reading all the new stuff. I'm sure that there are a lot of people that check in regular but don't say much. I never check anywhere else or look at other forums, just this on...

Re: Cyrus components failing

Does leaving them on standby make any difference? I leave mine on standby all the time. I did have an almost brand new hi end system once that I left in a box for 6 years, when I plugged it all in every part of it failed within 2 months. Must have been because it was left standing, may be dry joints...

Re: AV receiver recommendations sub-£1000 ?

Onkyo TXNR676e - around £500 mark. These are great, a lot more than you can want in an av receiver. Plenty of power, plenty of comparability and features. I have mine set up in a dolby atmos configuration. This model is plenty, but your budget would let you upgrade to a higher model, no real reason ...

Re: 5.1 system from stereo system

I started to think along the same lines, only I started at the opposite end. I started with an av system and then found out I wanted good music quality. I couldn't find a way to make the two work in one system, so now I have a dedicated music system and a dedicated atmos system. As a bonus, I now ge...

Re: Bohemian Rhapsody

Thanks Dave,

A couple of people have recommended it to me.
I haven't had a chance to see yet.
It's not something I would normally go to see.

Re: A last, long goodbye to Cyrus

What I find interesting is the cable that the speaker companies use internally inside the speakers and also the wire you can find inside the amps. I’m sure this isn’t expensive stuff. It always looks like cheap wire. The same as when the signal is sent around pcb’s, again I’m sure they use standard ...

Re: Hello! Newbie first post upgrade advice

My first streamer was a Cambridge Audio CXN v1. It was OK, nothing like as good as the reviews that it was getting in the magazines. It was useful as a pre amp and also it did have XLR connections. In sound terms. When I put it next to my xp2 sig there's no comparison, the Cyrus blows it clean out o...

Re: Hello! Newbie first post upgrade advice

It was a strong pull on me, to buy all the system in one make.
I guess I just like collecting things.
I'm really happy with my system and don't regret buying any of it.

Re: What Speaker cable are we all using

Less than a meter per speaker.
Audioquest FLX-SLiP 14/4

Cheap bi-wire, I'm really happy with it.
Was a huge sound upgrade from previous expensive cable.
