Tri-wiring Ruark Crusader IIs from 82 DAC Qx(R)

Postby crossmeister » Sat Mar 09, 2019 5:36 pm

Hi,

Just picked up some Ruark Crusader IIs and questioning whether tri-wire them...

1) Is it worth it (assume it is or Ruark wouldn't have added 3 sets of posts)?
2) If it is worth it, how do I actually do it?

Thanks!

As above, tri amping might be worth it, or it might not, depending on how it's implemented by Ruark in the crossover. I've tried bi amping in lesser speakers (Mission) and didn't like the result, but you won't know until you try.

Tri wiring - probably not. If your aim is to get more cross-sectional area of conductor between amp and speaker it could be worth it, but otherwise I doubt you'll hear a difference (unless you want to!).
