Surely it is forbidden to place anything on top of a hi-fi speaker?

I have a small pewter model of a Caterham 7 on the top of one of my speakers. It constantly reminds me of what I should have bought when I had the money. I had a conservatory and patio added to the back of the house instead. Oh well. :(

One of my speakers will acquire a cute snowman at the weekend, not sure about the other one yet.

Indeed I was 'disturbed' at first but actually all the cr*p has slightly worked to deaden the room a bit so not too bad in the end ;)

What makes me really cringe is seeing a potted plant on top of a speaker (yes there are people who do that).

One bonus when my large floorstanders went was that visitors stopped putting their phones and car keys on top of the one just inside the door to the room.

I remember reading on a forum once that someone was hosting a party when a rather inebriated female guest mistook the tweeter on his B&W speakers for a microphone and tried to pick it up to do karaoke! ;D

We have an absolute cast iron, no negotiable rule in our house - nothing goes on the top of the speakers.

Somehow, there are a couple of festive soft decorations which have appeared on the top of the speakers.

Shows who wears the trousers round here!

Never happened here, but I do like the decorations!
