cdxtse has developed an issue / dac xp still here

Postby fizzgog75 » Thu Jun 14, 2018 6:11 pm

Hi guys.
I used to be a member on here ages ago (fizzgog), but have just set up a new account.
I'm thinking of selling my Cyrus separates system to get an all in one box, could someone please help me value it?
It comprises the following components:

Mono X x2
Dac XP
CD xt SE
Psx R x2

All in excellent condition and in brushed black.

I also have a stream X which has developed a playback fault.

Thanks for any help.
Pete.

If you go on Ebay and research each unit individually there is a tick box at the side of the listing that will take you to past sales of that item. This will give you a good idea of their current value.

Thanks for the reply border, I have done that and, minus the stream X, it comes to around £2400.
I've also been offered £1700 as a trade in.
Do you think it's best to eBay them, or would you recommend selling them elsewhere?
Finally, in your opinion, would it be best to list them separately, or as a complete system?
Thanks for your time.
Pete

Thanks Ian, that's one of the reasons why I'm leaning away from eBay tbh, 10% eBay fees and around 5% PayPal fees are crazy!

Just noticed that eBay are doing a promotion where the final selling fee is only £3 regardless of the end price, only valid on listings that are placed between now and Monday.
Might be worth a punt with collection only??
Would you recommend I list them as a system or individually?
Thanks again.

You can do both with seperate listings but I would always sell items individually.
I think that they achieve a better price even if it does take a little longer.
Also try Gumtree as it is free,I sold my cdxt on there quite quickly to a local buyer so no charges and no postage.
There is also a Hi Fi for sale website that is free and I have sold stuff on there in the past.
good luck with the sales. :D

Mono X and PSX-R sell well second hand so eBay would be a good bet.

DAC and CDP are less easy to sell so my be worth trading in.
CDXTSE2/PSX-R(Nordost Silver Line)BC DAC3.7/VBL(Atlas Navigator)MF Baby Mk2(Atlas Navigator)2xMonoX(Coherent 4D)WB Arc
HUMAX Freesat+/Sony BDPS280>AVMaster8 and SP+>Spendor C5e>> Monitor Audio RXW12 sub>>4xSpendor SR5

Is the £1700 trade in for something you want to buy ?
Ebay is a ballache for selling (great for buyers though) + fee's which are mental nowadays.
I only buy from ebay now.
SBT (mod) >7d coax> TAD D1000 mk.2 >5d> Belles LA01 (gen2) >5d> Marantz MA9S2 >4d> Vivid Audio B1
Townshend rack/platforms, Coherent interconnects, DIY mains. Room Conditioning.

Thanks for all your advice guys.

I'm after a Naim star or nova - the £1700 was trade in towards a brand new nova (£4200).

Any ideas how either Naim sounds compared to Cyrus?
Thanks, Pete

ML binarystar digital, DenchXLR, RFCneptune RCA, VanDamme OFC spk cable. AG 500 ac regenerator and Townsend Seismic sink stand.

Havening recently just sold my entire Signature system my response would be probably less than you think especially if you want a quick sale. But my advice is to sell privately and separately.

Update post:
Thank you to all for the input on this thread.
I have split the system up and listed the items individually on eBay and gumtree. I've had a couple of offers this morning but I haven't accepted anything yet.

What doesn't sell will probably get part exchanged towards a nova or star. Do you think I will be disappointed in their ability coming from a mono Xs/dac XP setup?

Thanks again
Pete
