Re: Goodbye to Cyrus (Almost)

That's a huge amount of change very quickly Steve. Hopefully the PS Audio starts sounding like the highly regarded bit of kit it undoubtedly is very soon. Throw in the Melco and the Brystons and wow! Did you see the add on the forum for the VA "The Music"? ;) ;D Starting to notice positiv...

Re: Goodbye to Cyrus (Almost) Me too

Another convert to Bryston. That's the way I will probably go if I ever get the courage to spend that much money ! It would be good to hear what you think of the new kit when you've bedded it in. It is interesting to note, and this was partly why I changed to Bryston, is that a Bryston 4B3 stereo p...

The final piece in the upgrade puzzle arrived today, a Melco N1ZH60/2 music server. I'll use the existing NAS for backup.

Re: Goodbye to Cyrus (Almost)

I contacted the UK distributor for PS Audio, who told me that burn-in can take 400-500 hours, and so it looks like I have a long wait.

In reality, I expect I'll get 90% of the performance in 100 hours or so.

Re: Goodbye to Cyrus (Almost)

Nearly there. I received a further new toy today. (One more to go.) I was waiting with anticipation for TNT to arrive today with a PS Audio DirectStream DAC, including the Network Bridge. It is well built, solid and beautifully finished. Not only that but it was very simple to get working, very much...

The chord has gone now, but I think it does, one for each channel.

Re: Goodbye to Cyrus (Almost)

A couple of days ago a friend brought around an Innuos Zenith music server and a Chord Dave. The dedicated music server, interestingly, had a big impact on sound quality on its own, a much deeper sounds age and very smooth. The Dave, well, what can I say, the sound was transformed (not surprising at...

Re: Goodbye to Cyrus (Almost)

When I received the Amps, they were a demo set for me to try. I set them up and they sounded a little bright and glassy. I discovered that the pre is new, and the power is supposedly run-in, although, from looking at the manufacturing date, that appears pretty new as well. After quite a lot of use a...

Re: Elton John Vinyl

I bought the re-mastered Moody Blues 'Days Of Future Passed'. It was dull and sounded awful. None of the sparkle of the original. I sent it the back.
