Re: Gryphon integrated

I've read a couple of reviews since seeing this and it does seem very highly regarded indeed. Annoyingly wide though, like Musical Fidelity stuff, so thats a new rack to factor in if I wanted one, on top of the eye watering price. Looks great in your setup though!

Re: The future of this forum

Maybe (he says hopefully) Cyrus are positioning themselves for a new range of really high end hifi... It's been a long time coming if so. I expected a new line of products using the "One" chassis but spotted this on Facebook a while back: "I do hope Cyrus keep the die cast "shoe...

Re: The future of this forum

To be blunt, I don't think Cyrus are the commercial rival to Naim they once were. They seem to have given up on high end to focus on lifestyle audio products. I can't see Naim being that bothered.

I always got a thump when turning on mine, that's normal. Didn't notice a difference between the units though.

Hi Robert, First of all, congrats on the new job, that's great news. Second, did you see this? https://www.rdhworld.co.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=31903#p362180 Some people already shared their thoughts. I still think a "rebrand" would be a good idea, or at least toning down the Cyr...

Why didn't I think of that. Yes, they're supposed to be superb.

Re: ATC SM40 - connection query

The PMC Fact manual suggests linking the treble and mid on their speakers, for what it's worth. You probably won't notice much difference either way. If I remember correctly, the amps put around 220W into 8 ohms which should drive 85dB speakers loud. I wouldn't worry about the fans. At least you kno...

Very nice indeed. There are a lot of fantastic high end integrated amps out there these days. I'll make a mental note of this in case I decide I fancy more power.

Get a demo, but better power usually means a lower noise floor for starters.

The differences are marginal. If you like the sound of the Cyrus and it has the features you need, a DAC/Pre upgrade might offer more bang for your buck.

That's because they were the real thing, weren't they?
How Rami Malek won an oscar for that caricature of a performance, I'll never know.
