Re: What did you listen to tonight?

The best of Guns N Roses I forgot how good they sound, even at times how chilled out they are. Slash is great on the guitar The new Appetite remaster is very good indeed. https://www.highresaudio.com/en/album/view/fq7vp3/guns-n-roses-appetite-for-destruction-remastered-super-deluxe Air , walkie tal...

Re: Isoacoustics Gaia

My brand new speakers with Gaias fitted have arrived. The speakers sound a bit rough around the edges so I shouldn't really comment on the Gaias until the end of Dali's recommended 100 hours break in period but I immediately noticed vocals are more focused in the centre. Imaging is definitely improv...

Re: Roon Musings

I'm curious to see what all the fuss is about but Aurender don't support it. Even then I think it's aimed at users with multiple playback devices and perhaps music stored in different places too. Aurender's app does everything I need anyway.

Re: Dali Epicon 6

I am not so sure the Epicon 8 needs a very special or big room to sound great. (Maybe I should not say that) I think my room's big enough but I'd have to put the right speaker in front of a door so I could move the left one further from the side wall and then move the listening position back a few ...

Re: Isoacoustics Gaia

My dealer brought a set of these to demo with the new speakers but unfortunately they had the wrong threads with them. They also brought some Townshend seismic podiums. I had a brief listen but wasn’t familiar enough with the speakers to really pinpoint the differences. They’re not pretty though and...

Re: Dali Epicon 6

Thanks fellas. In a way this all came about due to the nice weather we've been having. My Sony ZX2 Walkman and Oppo PM-3 came out of the drawer for the first time in a while. Combined they offer a very warm presentation. I was listening to Bowie's Moonage Daydream and loving how they smoothed over t...

Dali Epicon 6

My PMC Twenty.26 and I have enjoyed three happy years together but recently I’ve felt like it’s time to move on, not necessarily to upgrade, but I’ve had a hankering for a different kind of sound. The Twenty 26 are great, particularly since I got my Luxman amp, but I’m increasingly drawn to a warmer...

Re: StreamX versus Auralic G1

There are articles out there explaining why that’s not true, jitter, RFI etc (yawn) but it’s one of those things that you won’t believe until you hear it.

Re: StreamX versus Auralic G1

Different rooms, different systems, different ears. It's all subjective.

Digital sources do sound different to each other but less so than any other type of component (excluding cables).
