Ok so firstly the sound cuts out suddenly with a bit of a click/boom. I've since been told the PCB processor chip needs to be addressed before determining whether the anything else is at fault too. However my repairer suppliers do not carry said part anymore..
Can anybody advise me where to seek help, (Brighton based) or is it basically kaput..(I cannot afford Cyrus's £300 default repair price.)

According to the "Supported Models" list on the Cyrus website, the 8VS is fully supported still, which suggests that parts are still available.

"PCB chip" is not specific enough though, because there will be multiple "chips" providing different services.

Note also that the 8VS2 is "no longer supported but repair may be possible" so you would need to be sure that your model is definitely an 8VS.

Hi mojo,
It is an 8VS for sure, not a 2! Supported it maybe, but does that mean the parts are obtainable outside of Cyrus's servicing dept?

Regarding pcb description, this is all I have to go on so far, vague I know.

Thanks for the brevity in your response!

Gonna give it one last shot on here. Switched it on today. Get a Green light now upon switching on. However I still get a high pitch electrical sounding screech/ followed by a loudish cutting out deepish noise. Is this now an expensive paper weight Or can somebody advise as to where I could get it fixed at? (Other than Cyrus!) Thanks in advance!
