My system set up

Postby IanB » Mon Jan 30, 2017 8:51 pm

Knocked some walls down in back part of our house opening up kitchen, dining room, and conservatory.
Very fortunate to have this built. Very pleased with the results.

That looks good, a lot of effort has obviously gone into setting it all up.

Well done and glad you are enjoying it.

nice setup but do the speakers work in that position ?

I guess, like me, you don't have much choice about where you put them..

Wow, very neat and tidy. Looks great. 8)

But that bass most be huge in those alcoves? Plus the secondary reflection off the LH wall....

Thanks for your comments. My speakers are @ 15cm out from the back wall and not particularly enclosed ( photo not really clear ). I sit @ 2m from the centre and don't sense the base is particularly boomy.
Loving listening to music again after a few months of it being packed away.

Unfortunately most of us have to compromise in one way or another. One of the best ways to improve upon speaker positioning is to remove anything that comes between them, and that would involve pulling them forwards of the alcoves so they sit in free space.
Our little regas are at 90 degrees to each other, and squeezed in, so very far from ideal, but doesnt seem to stop them grooving.

Very nice set-up. Can I ask what the 3rd cyrus box in from the left on the top row is? A phono stage?

Speaker positioning can be a bugger when you've not got much space. I have a similar issue with back and side walls being very close to my speakers but use a fully enclosed pair (ATC SCM40s) which mitigates these issues. Sound ends up nicely balanced.
