In The Wee Small Hours - Frank Sinatra

Very well recorded. And I'm enjoying it very much.

I see it's selling for GBP10:

Wishbone Ash - New England

Recorded in the USA in 1976 when the band had relocated there for a few years in the late 70's. Quite a varied album with riff driven rockers balanced with quieter ballads. Includes the stand-out track Lorelei. Excellent twin lead guitars, up front bass playing and imaginative percussion throughout. One of my favourite Wishbone Ash albums and likely to be in my top 30 albums of all time.

pirates - Ricky Lee Jones
dire straits - just one side
tubular bells - side 1 , 3 times
famous blue raincoat - Jennifer warnes
we get requests - Ella and Louie
spirit of Eden - talk talk
OMD - OMD
going home - Tyrell corporation

and
from a s/h shop
a 4 track 12inch
chris rea - pretzel logic
This sounds like club tracks from early 90s. not recognisable as chris rea
A sense heighten by only discovering it is a 33.3 rpm disc half way through first track at 45rpm

I've been listening exclusively to Christmas music for the last few days and have now played everything festive I own on CD & vinyl.

I'm ready for a night off from Yuletide tunes and so I'm spending an evening with Ann & Nancy Wilson:

Now playing Heart - Magazine

To follow will be Heart - Little Queen

By far my favourite Heart album is Dreamboat Annie. I was introduced to that album when a dear friend made a mix tape many years ago which included Magic Man.

Yes, Dreamboat Annie is the Heart standout album in my opinion too. Of the later albums I think Jupiter's Darling is one of their best.

I received a Simple Minds LP boxset of the first seven albums, been spinning today, God they were a breath of fresh air in the early days.

Indeed. Real to Real Cacophony was the first of their early albums I listened to having only heard Once Upon A Time previously. That was a bit of a difference... I still love Life In A Day; used to listen to it on my Walkman going to school in the late 80's.

Nicole Sabouné - Miman. Hideous sleeve, but a great album.

Very much like work, in fact! This avante album was described as offering 'awkward and disorienting free-noise scrapings'. I can't better that!
