Am working my way through this book: The Complete Beatles Songs: The Stories Behind Every Track Written By The Fab Four by Steve Turner. It's been my companion to re-visiting the canon in chronological order.

Have got up to and including Rubber Soul.

A Hard Days Night - favourite album
In My Life - favourite album track
I Feel Fine - favourite non-album single

Looking forward to moving on to 1967 next time.

As i have a tidal trial again i have been checking a few things out
Some sinead oConnor albums from this century are actually very good
the latest Paul Weller album is very good, i thought the last one - quiet revolution - was poor

i listened to
re:remembers by olaf arnalds
spaces by nils frahm

in some ways they left me feeling as i did after listening to blue notebooks by max richter

They left me sad, they are interesting but the meloncolic feeling is a little to much for me at the moment
I think i’d like to see them live
i do prefer stuff with singing
both impressive but I want more joy

I have three Santana albums:

Moonflower (double album on vinyl) which I've had since it was released in 1977 and have always loved and play frequently. It's blistering mix of live interspersed with studio tracks. As well as great music and musicianship, this is also a very system flattering album.

Supernatural (on CD) a 1999 release I've also had since it came out. I'm less familiar with this having played it less for some reason. It's quite an eclectic mixture due to the collaborations with different musicians and an enjoyable listen.

Ultimate Collection (on CD) a greatest hits compilation issued in 2000.

I've done an internet search for other Santana albums to try out on Apple Music and have selected Abraxas and Lotus (live album) to check out soon.

Any other Santana recommendations out there?

My neighbour gave me a CD with two albums by Principal Edwards Magic Theatre. Prog from late 60ies very sweet in some places, absolutely awful in others. Interesting document of its time.

This afternoon I played the two most recent Charlie albums:
Kitchens of Distinction (2009)
Elysium (2015)

Terry Thomas at his cynical social commentary best. A return to form after the two mid-1970s cracking albums:
Fantasy Girls
No Second Chance

I have all of the other in-between albums, but none are as good as the four mentioned above in my opinion.
