Has the official Cyrus forum gone ?

Postby zippy » Wed Jun 21, 2017 7:42 am

I raised a item on the 'official' Cyrus forum a while ago querying why hardly anyone used it.

This week, if I try to access it, I get:

'Sorry, the website http://www.forum.cyrusaudio.com cannot be found'.

I wonder if Cyrus have finally decided it's not worth the trouble for so few postings. Shame really since it was a good place to raise items, knowing that the responses from Chris would be 'official'.

Chris (Cyrus) don't know if you follow this unofficial forum, if so perhaps you can comment...

Least useful hifi forum ever. Didn't listen to consistent advice about the ridiculous clunky platform they chose to host it on, kept going on about their developer! WTF just move it to a different one that works, simple.

Then they destroyed it themselves by starting a Facebook site which has now attracted most the traffic. Couldn't make it up could you.

I'm not a fan of Facebook anyway, but I find the Cyrus Facebook site pretty much useless.

The forum seemed to be a care in the community substitute.

Rather humorously I got an auto-email message saying that Cyrus Chris had posted a message this morning, probably explaining.
Why that's funny is that I can't see his reply on the forum as I'm back to the
"Sorry, the website http://www.forum.cyrusaudio.com cannot be found"
message !!!

Chris did say he was losing the will to live at one point...

Someone asked him to remove all their posts ever in one part of the ongoing moderation saga

Best left as a fond memory.

As at 15.45 today it's still there. I don't know how easy or hard it is to change hosting co. but CyrusChris has said the problems are down to the current co. Maybe now is the time to change.

I just clicked on your link and got straight onto the site. There are only 5 topics showing, including Zippy's post with Clive replying, so I guess you're not missing much if you can't get through to it. ;)
