Mconnect PlayerHD v Cadence

Postby clive197 » Tue Jul 10, 2018 4:43 pm

Now that I’ve moved my DACXP, X300’s & PSX-R as well as the CDXt on, I can no longer use the volume control on Cadence. So with that in mind I thought I would try a different control app for my StreamX Signature.

I’ve just downloaded Mconnect PlayerHD on to my iPad and I would be most interested to know other people’s thoughts

I'm still using Bubble UPnP and that has all the functions you'd normally need and miles better than Cadence (but that's Android).

AG1500 regenerator/StreamXSig->DAC XPSig(with PSX-R2)->Bryston 4BSST2->KEF Reference 3~2

My 1st impressions of Mconnect PlayerHD is very positive. It’s easy to use and very slick with very nearly instant responses to input. It works on all my devices (Cyrus, OPPO, Sonos & my Chord Poly/Mojo) seamlessly.

Cadence has now been put out to pasture, I’m not sure how I’ve managed to stick with it all these years.

its good but with cadence I can close app and it keeps palying, with Mconnect it disconnect if I close the app. Not a problem if you have a dedicated tablet for your player
The thing I like is the ability to make playlists
cyrus stream X2, CDi, Oppo HA-1SE, IMFs, mfa Baby classicV2, NORD OneUP, VA Beethoven Baby Grand
ML binarystar digital, DenchXLR, RFCneptune RCA, VanDamme OFC spk cable. AG 500 ac regenerator and Townsend Seismic sink stand.

Why do you have to close your app? You can leave it running in the background while doing other things.

While I’m here looking at the forum and replying to your post, I’m listening to Ernest Ranglin “Below The Bassline”, Mconnect PlayerHD is working fine in the back ground and not losing connection when returning to it, something Cadence was very prone to doing.

I had that problem on my iPad, which is quite old, but no issues at all on my iPhone.
